Housing is a human right. Limit property taxes at 1% of purchase price. Adopt California's Prop 13. Limit reassessments to when a property is sold and between sales adjust for inflation. Voting for Nico is a mandate to the Illinois General Assembly to legislate these changes. This is not a partisan issue. Democrats, Republicans and Independents are united in demanding these changes. Cook County has the highest property taxes in Illinois and Illinois has the highest property taxes in the nation. The biggest victims of the present broken property tax system are brown and black families. It is time for a change. Vote Nico Tsatsoulis for Cook County assessor.
